LOCAL MARKET UPDATE

The supply of available homes remains at critical levels, with both King and Snohomish counties showing less than a month’s supply of inventory. With demand far outstripping supply, home prices increased by double-digits over last year throughout the Puget Sound area. The red hot market allows sellers to call the shots. Since some sellers are hesitant to put their home on the market for fear they won’t be able to find their next home quickly enough, many are negotiating with buyers to stay in their house for several months after the sale to ease the transition.

The Organized Horse

Ellen Degeneres and Portia deRossi make no secret of their love for each other or for their mutual love of all things horse related. The couple share a beautiful ranch in California where Ellen’s intense need to design artful spaces combines beautifully with Portia’s need to ride. Together they create spaces that are inviting, well edited and made to live, ride and create in. Now Ellen’s design sensibility has partnered with Bergdorf Goodman in NYC to carry a line of home décor items called simply ED by Ellen. From whimsical dishes with phrases like ” a horse walks into a bar” written on them to elegant carafes with silver stoppers (pictured below) at price points accessible to all of us, ED is a great way to infuse a bit of horse sense and humor into all our lives.
